MACIEL LOPEZ, SR. EDINBURG – Maciel Lopez, Sr., 80, died Friday September 26, 2014, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in Mexico, he had lived in Edinburg most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Amparo Lopez; a brother, Jose Lopez; and a daughter, Juanita Lopez. Mr. Lopez is survived by his wife, Aida Lopez; three children, Maciel (Felicia) Lopez, Jr. of Spring, TX, Aida Lopez of Edinburg, Diana Lopez of Houston; eight grandchildren, Maciel III, Ileana, Javier, Raul, Araceli, Mina, Elijah and Matthew; seven siblings, Maria Angelica (†Margarito) Valdez, Eliza Lopez, Guadalupe (†Pablo) Anaya, Minerva (Jaime) Guerrero, Amparo (Jaime) Torres, Salomon (Mina) Lopez, Luis Carlos (Delia) Lopez; and a sister in law, Jesucita Lopez. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today October 1, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Entombment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
