Raquel Lopez

EDINBURG - Raquel Lopez, 89, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family Friday, August 25, 2017, at her residence in Edinburg, TX.
She was born in Edinburg, TX, and lived there all of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Lopez, Sr.; her parents, Jose Rodriguez and Maria Cantu; three sisters, Paula Ruiz, Petra Gonzales, Lidia Espericueta; and her brother, Israel Rodriguez.
Raquel is survived by her daughter, Irma (Bill) Turney of San Antonio; five sons, Pedro (Sandra) Lopez, Jr. of Arizona, Eduardo (Dora) Lopez, Mario Lopez, both of Edinburg, Rolando (Linda) Lopez and Leo (Lilly) Lopez, both of Denison, TX; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Cleofas (Fela) Rodriguez, Sr. of Corpus Christi, TX; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, today, August 28, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 12 noon August 29, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
