Juanie, as she was affectionally called, 78, was called by the Lord on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.
Born to Mariano and Estella Garza on March 6, 1943 in San Juan, TX. Juanie was married to the love of her life Julian B. Lopez for 53 years, they had two children, Julian, Jr., and Judith Iris; six grandchildren, Robert J, Jacob, Joshua, Victoria, Gabriella, and Mario. Juanie was a great baker and could always be found making cakes and goodies for family and friends. Juanie was a woman of deep catholic faith and would volunteer her time helping others. She was a founding member of St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in San Juan. Juanie is survived by her siblings, Rosario Kirby, Mariano Garza Jr., Estella Gomez, Carlos Garza, Christina (Ramiro) Espinoza, Mario (Corina) Garza. Juanie was the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to everyone who knew her, she led by example and always acted with kind gestures, without acknowledgment followed by the most soft sincere words. Juanie was healthy and full of energy and always helped others. Her battle with Alzheimer's ended after 10 years, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, August 2, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
