Lucia Cantu, 84, entered eternal rest Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
Born in Alamo, she had lived in Pharr and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Maria Inez Handy Cantu and Emiliano Cantu; and two sisters, Lupita Munoz and Delia Nevarez.
Mrs. Cantu is survived by her husband of 58 years, Romeo Cantu; three children, Romeo Cantu Jr. of Pharr, Corina “Cori” Cantu (Hiram) Gutierrez of McAllen, Homer Cantu of Cedar Park; three grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan and Jared; and a brother, Emiliano (Lupita) Cantu of Pharr.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 8 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
