Ponciano Luera

PONCIANO LUERA EDINBURG – Ponciano Luera, 77, died Thursday, July 16, 2015, at his residence in Edinburg. Born in Edinburg, Mr. Luera had lived there all of his life. He was a loving father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julia and Juan Luera; five siblings, Ramon Luera, Jorge Luera , Audelia Luera, Humberto Luera and Dominga Ortega. Mr. Luera is survived by his wife of 53 years, Francisca R. Luera; three children, Rosa (Eli) Rodriguez, Ruben (Maria) Luera, Juan Luera; five grandchildren, Michelle, Cecilia, Ruben, Jr., Sarah and Edgar; a brother, Vivian Luera, all of Edinburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
