JUAN V. LUNA
EDINBURG – Juan V. Luna, 81, died in peace Monday, July 13, 2009, at Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home in McAllen.
Mr. Luna was born in Los Ebanos, Texas and had lived in Edinburg most of his life. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during Korean Conflict.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margarita G. Luna; two brothers, Nicolas Luna and Ruben Luna; and a sister, Herminia Chavez.
Mr. Luna is survived by seven children, Yolanda Luna of San Juan, Dora Jean (David) Sanchez of McAllen, Lionel (Guadalupe) Luna of Hayward, California, Beatrice Luna, Irma (Albino) Trejo and Elizabeth (Ernesto) Perez all of Edinburg, and Luis Luna of Bertram, Texas; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sister, Virginia Luna, Dolores Garcia and Maria “Cuca”Luna all of Edinburg; four brothers, Daniel Luna of Oakley, California, Efren Luna Jr. and Jose Antonio Luna both of Edinburg and Santiago Luna of Houston, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, July 16, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2009, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen.
