SOLEDAD S. LUNA
EDINBURG — Soledad S. Luna, 86, died Sunday, February 13, 2011, at her residence in Edinburg.
Born in Guanajuato, Mexico, Mrs. Luna had lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Luna Jr. and two grandsons, Aaron Rene Luna and Fernie Luna.
Mrs. Luna is survived by 14 children, Salvador (Oralia) Luna, Martin (Dora) Luna, Estella (Fred) Perez, Jesus (Norma) Luna, Pete (Letty) Luna, Tony (Katrina) Luna, Rosa (Eddy) Trevino, Rosario (Rick) Loredo, Armando (Sofie) Luna, Fernando (Sara) Luna, Elvia (Mario) Sustaita, all of Edinburg, Martha (Elio) De La Garza, Genie (Ramiro) Garcia, both of McAllen, Matilde (David) Rodriguez, of Mission; 31 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Celestino Sancen and Jose Sancen, both of Oakley, California.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, February 15, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 1pm, Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Her sons will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Flor, Anabel and Gloria; to the staff of Medical Innovations and Heart of the Valley Hospice; and to their family and friends for the love and support shown to Mrs. Luna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
