RAMON L. MANCIAS ALAMO – Ramon L. Mancias, 84, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at his home after his battle with cancer. He was born in Realitos, TX on January 22, 1931 to Julian and Apolonia Mancias. He was a lifelong resident of Alamo and member of Resurrection Catholic Church, where he humbly served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and a member of the society of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Ramon loved his family unconditionally, he was a humble prayerful God honoring man with special devotions to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Eucharistic Adoration and Divino Niño. He took great pride in being privileged to work for the City of Alamo for years where many attested to being influenced by his kind and giving spirit. His work ethics are passed on to his children encouraging them to do the same. He will be truly missed by his family who is certain that he is truly in God’s Kingdom giving him praise and honor. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Apolonia Mancias; his daughter, Sylvia Mancias; a sister, Virginia Landa; two brothers, Genaro and Eduardo Mancias. Mr. Mancias is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maria G. Mancias; four sons, Ruben (Ana) Mancias, Fernando (Sandra) Mancias, Ramiro (Maribel) Mancias, Ramon (Melissa) Mancias, Jr.; four daughters, Delia (Joe) Alaniz, Delma (Eduardo) Singleterry, Elvia Luna and Becky Mancias. Ramon was blessed with 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; relatives and friends; six siblings, Dolores († Isauro) Leos, Lupe (Juanita) Mancias, Adrian († Anastacia) Mancias, Julio Mancias, Remigio (Carlota) Mancias and Roel (Eloisa) Landa. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo. Pallbearers will be Noe Salazar, Juan Jose Castillo, Joel Luna, Emmanuel Singleterry, Ramon Mancias III, and Isaac Rendon. Honorary pallbearers, Julian Fernando Mancias and Miguel Antonio Flores. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
