MARIA G. CONTRERAS

EDINBURG – Maria G. Contreras, 92, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024, at her residence in Edinburg. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ubaldo Contreras Sr., two sons, Martin R. Contreras, Sgt. Rosalio “Leo” Contreras, USMC; grandson, Carlos Contreras; and her parents, Luz and Maria Jesus Rosales. 

Mrs. Contreras is survived by her nine children, Miguel Angel Contreras, Lorenzo (Teresa) Contreras, Ubaldo (Maria) Contreras Jr., Ricardo Contreras, Fernando Contreras, Maria Elena (Jesus) Rodriguez, Amalia (Damacio Palacios Jr.) Contreras, Martha Maria (Ruben) Becerra, Ester Contreras; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two siblings, San Juana Rosales and Luz Rosales. 

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg.  Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at First Lutheran Church in Edinburg.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
