IGNACIA “LYDIA” MARQUEZ EDINBURG – Ignacia “Lydia” Marquez, 91, died Sunday, August 23, 2015, at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. Born in Queretaro, Mexico, Mrs. Marquez had lived in Puerto Rico Ranch in Linn, TX most of her life. Lydia loved nature and living out in the country. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Marquez will be dearly missed by all her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Marquez. Lydia is survived by five children, Alvaro (Martha) Marquez of Florida, Conrado (Eva) Marquez, of Freer, TX, Maria Elena (Arturo) Cruz, Lydia Eva (Frank) Gomez, both of Edinburg, Adan (Melinda) Marquez of La Gloria; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, August 25 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. The family would like to thank Family Medical Center, DHR and Amara Hospice for the medical care given to our beloved mother. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
