Adela E. Martinez

ADELA E. MARTINEZ ALAMO – Adela E. Martinez, 93, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013, at her residence in Alamo. Born in Alamo, Mrs. Martinez had lived there all of her life and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Luis Martinez; her parents, Fortunato and Soledad Escobedo; and five siblings, Consuelo Escobedo, Cristobal Escobedo, Herlinda Martinez, Maximiliano Escobedo, Juan F. Escobedo. Mrs. Martinez is survived by a son, Juan (Maria) Martinez, of Donna; a daughter, Odilia (Robert) de la Garza, of Alamo; seven grandchildren, Jose Arturo Mosqueda, Juan Martinez Jr., Melissa Martinez, Luis Martinez, Michael Martinez, Ruby de la Garza and Roxanne de la Garza; 11 great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Luisa Hinojosa, of Mission, Petra Vasquez, Pedro Escobedo, both of Alamo and Maria Elisa Garza, of Pharr. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, October 21, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
