EDINBURG - Arturo A. Martinez, 61, died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at his residence in Edinburg.
Born in Edinburg, Mr. Martinez lived there all of his life and was employed by Edinburg Auto Truck Stop 76, now known as TA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Martinez; and his parents, Noe G. Martinez and Maria Alicia Aguirre Martinez.
Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Teresa M. Martinez of Edinburg; three sons, Arturo (Maria Aleida) Martinez Jr. of McAllen, Fred (Sofia) Martinez of Anthony, New Mexico, Abel (Delma) Martinez of Edinburg; a daughter, Maria Alicia (Blas) Martinez of Edinburg; 11 grandchildren, Suzanne Renee, Fred Jr., Vanessa P. Martinez, Mario, Isabel Sanchez, David, Ashley, Marissa Martinez, Sarai Leal, Breanna and Bibiana Casanova; three brothers, Noe Martinez Jr., Adam Martinez, Eloy Martinez; and two sisters, Noelia M. Zamora and Leticia Millan, all of Edinburg.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
