AURORA G. MARTINEZ PHARR – Aurora G. Martinez, 85, died Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Amara Hospice Inpatient Facility in Edinburg. Born in Dale, Texas, Mrs. Martinez had lived in Pharr most of her life and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Esequiel Martinez, Sr. Aurora is survived by eight children, Esequiel (Ester) Martinez Jr., Flora (Elisandro Jr.) Enriquez, both of Pharr, Hilary (Ornaldo) Urive, Hortencia (Raul) Acevedo, Rosaelia (Jose) Gonzalez, all of Mission, Carolina (Raul) Palma, of Edinburg, Susan (Robert) Garza, of Alamo, Jesus (Lupita) Martinez, of Mapleton, North Dakota; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Gregorio Garcia, of San Angelo, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with 7 p.m. rosary today, December 29, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
