DANIEL MARTINEZ ALAMO – Daniel Martinez, 64, died Monday, January 27, 2014, at McAllen Medical Center. He is now with his parents and brothers who have gone before him. Mr. Martinez was born in Alamo and had lived there all of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Herlinda Martinez; and three brothers, Guadalupe Martinez Jr., Federico Martinez and Erasmo Martinez. Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Josefina Martinez, of Alamo; four daughters, Guadalupe Martinez, of Mission, Linda Martinez, of Houston, Diana Elizabeth Martinez, of Alamo, Priscilla Martinez, of McAllen; eight grandchildren; and five siblings, Artemio (Berta) Martinez, of Brownsville, Reblo (Irma) Martinez, of San Juan, Diana Martinez, San Juana (Jesus) Reyna, and Luis Antonio Martinez, all of Alamo. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Cremation will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
