DOLORES "LOLA" MARTINEZ
PHARR - Dolores "Lola" Martinez, 72, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Cerrito de Dolores Pinos, Zacatecas, Mexico, Mrs. Martinez had lived in Pharr most of her life and was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Salvador and Rafaela Olvera; a brother, Fernando Olvera; and a sister, San Juana Mireles.
Mrs. Martinez is survived by her husband, Guadalupe Luis Martinez of Pharr; five children, Jose De Jesus Garza, Luis Enrique (Sandra) Martinez, Edith (Jose Chapa) Martinez, Lydia (Jorge Gonzalez) Martinez, all of Pharr and Rosa Elida (Ramon) Vargas of Edinburg; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jesus Olvera of Rio Bravo, Tamps., Mexico and Salvador Olvera of Reynosa, Tamps., Mexico; and three sisters, Francisca Morales, Delia Sanchez, both of Rio Bravo, Tamps., Mexico and Angelica Esqueda of San Benito.
A rosary was held Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 pm, today, September 17, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
