Esperanza Martinez

ESPERANZA MARTINEZ SAN JUAN – Esperanza Martinez, 63, died Thursday, October 24, 2013, at her residence in San Juan. Born December 9, 1949 in San Jose De Raices, Mexico, Mrs. Martinez had lived in San Juan most of her life. Esperanza was a member of Liberty Temple Church in Pharr. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Maria Isabel Vigil and son-in-law, Tirso Vigil. Esperanza is survived by her husband, Cruz Martinez of San Juan; three daughters, Rosalinda (Lee) Vargas, Guadalupe (Noel) Ramirez, both of San Juan, Jessica (Joe) Castro of Weslaco; a son, Angel (Ashley) Cruz of San Juan; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez of McAllen; four sisters; and five brothers. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m. today, October 25, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Liberty Temple Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
