ESPETACION “CHON” MARTINEZ SAN JUAN – Espetacion “Chon” Martinez, 92 died, Thursday, August 29, 2013 at his residence in San Juan. Born November 21, 1920 in Ramones N.L., Mexico; he had lived in San Juan most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clemente and Dolores Martinez; a grandson, Adrian Martinez; and six siblings. Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Rosa P. Martinez; eight children, Nemecio (Gloria Hernandez) Martinez, Hermelinda (Enrique) Montes, Norma L. Martinez all of San Juan, Aracelia M. (+Arnulfo) Valdez of Moses Lake, Washington, Salome (Maria Luisa) Martinez of Kerman, California, Emiliano (Amalia) Martinez, Hector (Maria Elena) Martinez, both of Othello, Washington, Leonardo Martinez of Benton City, Washington; 22 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, today September 2, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m., Tuesday September 3, 2013, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
