Fernando "Chico" Martinez

Fernando "Chico" Martinez, 86, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, September 17, 2021. Dad was a devoted family man. He instilled in us the importance of hard work, honesty, and family. Dad was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. We love you dad you will be forever in our hearts.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Javier; and a daughter-in-law, Yolanda.
Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anita; two sons, Juan Fernando (Irma) Martinez, Joey Martinez, four daughters, Irma (Epifanio Jr.) Gomez, Nancy (Jesus) Hernandez, all of San Juan, Nelly (Pete) Lopez of Edinburg, and Lynda (Rolando) Cortez of McAllen; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, September 20, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
