FRANCISCO MARTINEZ
PHARR – Francisco Martinez, 81, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at his residence in Pharr.
Born in Harlingen, Mr. Martinez had lived in Pharr most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mercedes M. Martinez; his parents, Eugenio and Maria Martinez; and a son, Esteban Martinez.
Mr. Martinez is survived by a son, Jose Antonio (Araceli) Martinez, of Harlingen; five daughters, Betty (Alfredo) Valle, of Harlingen, Mary Francis (Eduardo) Trevino, of Alamo, Monica (Nicolas) De Hoyos, Pauline Martinez, Amanda Martinez, all of Pharr; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, April 12, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
