Javier "Mr. Radio" Martinez

Javier Martinez, 69, died Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Paulita Martinez; a brother, Carlos Martinez; two sisters, Maria Garza and Florinda Balderas.
Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Maria Del Rosario Martinez of Pharr; two sons, Javier (Lyssette) Martinez, Jr. of Edinburg, Heron (Roxanne) Martinez of Pharr; two daughters, Diamantina (Ralph) Pena of La Joya, Veronica (Joshua) Mata of San Antonio; 11 grandchildren, Javier III, Ojay, Nicholas, Jared, Michael, Emiliano, Lauren, Meagan, Sophia, Alejandro and Olivia; three brothers, Rodrigo Martinez, Rodolfo Martinez, both of Pharr, Juan Garza of Edinburg; five sisters, Dora Silva of Pharr, Florencia Mora, Nora Villarreal, both of San Juan, Aracelia Barrientos of Penitas, and Blanca Garza of Pharr.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, January 31, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
