JOSE C. MARTINEZ
ALAMO - Jose C. Martinez, 74, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at McAllen Medical Center.
Born in Alice, Texas, Mr. Martinez was formerly of McAllen and had lived in Alamo for the past two years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Martinez was owner of Enjoeyable Tours and for many years took groups of Winter Texans to visit different parts of Mexico including Cancun, Copper Canyon, Tampico and Mazatlan.
He is preceded in death by a son, Thomas Michael Martinez; and his parents, Tomas and Eloisa Martinez.
Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Marisol Martinez of Alamo; two sons, Jose Damacio Martinez of Alamo, Jose Conrado (Nora) Martinez II of Alice, Texas; two daughters, Mayra Martinez of San Juan, Anna L. (Thomas) Flynn of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Lucila Reynolds of Alice, Rita (David) Jaso of Austin, Texas; a brother, Guadalupe T. (Mary Alice) Martinez of Alice, Texas; and a daughter-in-law, Lydia Martinez of Alice, Texas.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 9 pm, with a 5 pm prayer service and a 7 pm rosary, Friday, February 18, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Saturday, February 19, 2011 at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will take place at 4 pm at Lara Cemetery in Alice, Texas with military honors.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
