PHARR – Josefina R. Martinez, 81, died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at her residence in Pharr.
Born in Goliad, Tx, Mrs. Martinez lived in Pharr all of her life. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Mrs. Martinez was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Victoriano Martinez; a son, Ricardo Martinez; a brother, Antonio Rodriguez; and a sister, Lucia Salazar.
Josefina is survived by her children, Irene Martinez, Ida Martinez, Robert (Liz) Martinez, Rebecca (Carlos) Almanza, Raul (Sandra) Martinez, Ruben (Letty) Martinez, Rodrigo Martinez, Maria De Jesus (Rudy Solis) Martinez, Maria Del Rosario (Mike) Ayala, all of Pharr, Victor (Martha) Martinez, Patricia (Omar) Mendoza , both of Edinburg, Irma (Raul) Rocha of San Juan, and Erasmo (Yolanda) Martinez of Alamo; 42 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; siblings, Matias Rodriguez, Fortunato (Estella) Rodriguez, Amado Rodriguez, Elida (Arturo) Hernandez all of Pharr, and Juana Villarreal of San Juan.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, December 27, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home, 311 E. Expressway 83 in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
