JUAN L. MARTINEZ
ALAMO - Juan L. Martinez, 98, entered eternal rest Thursday, September 2, 2021, at his residence in Alamo.
Mr. Martinez had lived in California most of his life where he worked for Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. In 1987 he retired to Alamo.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carmela Martinez; a son, Juan Carlos Martinez; six siblings, Pablo, Jesus, Antonio, Ramiro, Irma Garza, and Josefina Galvan.
Mr. Martinez is survived by six children, Maria Elizabeth Martinez, Miguel Angel (Kyioko) Martinez, Gudberto (Ana Maria) Martinez, Anamaria Hernandez, Moises (Melba) Martinez, Samuel Martinez; family members Israel Zamora, Socorro Rodriguez, Silvia Gomez; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five, great-great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Jose, Reynaldo, Isidro, and Ismael Martinez.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Monday, September 6, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
