MANUELA C. MARTINEZ October 30, 1922 ~ October 06, 2015 PHARR – Manuela C. Martinez, 92, died Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Mrs. Martinez was born in Pharr and lived there all of her life. She devoted her life to fundraisers and events to help Nuestro Señor Jesucristo Catholic Church evolve into what is now St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Pharr. Something she always did was bless her children as they left her home. Manuela was a loving, caring, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Augustin Martinez. Manuela is survived by eight children, Augustin (Yolanda) Martinez, Victor (Oralia) Martinez, Eva Martinez, all of McAllen, Ernesto (+Gloria) Martinez, Estela M. Garza, Mario (Norma) Martinez, all of Pharr, Adalberto (Margie) Martinez of Alamo and Adan Martinez of Fort Worth, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, October 8, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2015, at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Magic Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Javier Martinez, Eli Garza, Ricardo Garza, Noe Martinez, Alexis Martinez, and Mario Andres Martinez. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
