MARIA G. MARTINEZ ALAMO- Maria G. Martinez, 66, died Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in Michoacán, Mexico, she had lived in Alamo most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rogelio Martinez, Sr.; her parents, Juan and Eloisa Ybarra, Sr.; and a brother, Raul Ybarra Mrs. Martinez is survived by seven children, Janie Martinez, Julia Martinez, Sonia (Kenneth) Bigham, all of Alamo, Joyce (Joseph) Holmberg, of Houston, Texas, Rogelio (Cecilia) Martinez, Jr., of Weslaco, Brenda (Tomas) Morales, of Mission and Hilda (Richard) Mabe, of Austin, Texas; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; three sisters, Josefina Garcia, Amada Martinez, Gloria Espinoza; and three brothers, Juan Ybarra, Jr., Jose Ybarra and Guillermo Ybarra. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. ,with a 7 p.m. rosary today, November 12, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
