MARIA TRINIDAD MARTINEZ

EDINBURG — Maria Trinidad Martinez, 85, died Saturday, January 31, 2009,
at Solara Hospital in McAllen.

Born in San Juan, Mrs. Martinez had lived there most of her life and had
lived in Edinburg for the past year. She was a member of Living Word
Evangelical Free Church in Pharr.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Enrique Martinez, in 1983;
a son, Juan Ramon Martinez, in 1979; a grandson, Arturo Roberto Martinez,
Jr. in 1997; and a brother, Alonzo Luna, in 2008.

Mrs. Martinez is survived by five sons, Arturo Martinez, of Bay City,
Texas, Jose Francisco Martinez, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Artemio Martinez
and Jesus Martinez, Jr., both of San Marcos, Texas, Ruben Martinez, of
Edinburg; two daughters, Maria Berta Martinez, of San Juan, Oralia
Herrera, of McAllen; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1
great-great-granddaughter; three brothers, Eden Luna, of Houston, Texas,
Rene Eloy Luna, of Progreso, Roberto Luna, of San Antonio, Texas; and
three sisters, Soila Sloss, Maria Reyna, both of San Juan, Irene Reyes, of
San Antonio, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service
today, February 1, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral
service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2009, at Living Word
Evangelical Free Church, 5208 N. Jackson Road, in Pharr, corner of Jackson
Road and Minnesota. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San
Juan.
