EDINBURG – Maria Elena Martinez, 75, died Saturday, February 13, 2016, at her residence in Edinburg.
Born in Brownsville, Mrs. Martinez had lived in Edinburg most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Martinez; her parents, Marcos and Josefina Hernandez; a brother and a sister.
Mrs. Martinez is survived by four children, Rafael (Serena) Martinez of Missouri, Teresa Martinez of Edinburg, Frank (Vanessa) Martinez, III of Mission, Marcos (Marie) Martinez of Edinburg; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six brothers; three sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would especially like to thank Gentiva Hospice in Harlingen for their outstanding care and patience with their mother.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McAllen Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funerals services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
