VALENTIN P. MARTINEZ
PHARR - Valentin P. Martinez, 59, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Mr. Martinez was born in Mexico and had lived in Pharr most of his life. He was employed by Texas Migrant Council for over ten years and later retired from Time Warner Cable after 25 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Guadalupe Martinez; a brother, Lorenzo Guzman; and a sister, Maria Luisa Martinez.
Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Esmeralda Martinez, of Pharr; three children, Deyanira Martinez, Desi Adrian Martinez, both of Pharr, Deborah (Neil) Kuhlmann, of Corpus Christi, Texas; two grandchildren, Hunter and Jade Kuhlmann; his mother, Maria Luisa Martinez, of Pharr; and ten siblings, Tito (Martha) Gallegos, of Pasadena, California, Imelda (Loren) Trapp, Jose Angel (Deodeli) Martinez, Nora Elia (Aurelio) Aguilar, Leticia Martinez, all of Pharr, Oscar (Janie) Martinez and Veronica (Alex) Flores, both of Alamo, David (Yolanda) Martinez, of West Covina, California, Rosalinda (Valentin) Ayala, of Hidalgo, Griselda Martinez, of Anaheim, California; and a sister-in-law, Celia Guzman, of Pharr.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, May 25, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
