ZACARIAS P. MARTINEZ
SAN JUAN — Zacarias P. Martinez, 74, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
He was a musician and family oriented man. In his free time Zacarias enjoyed BBQ’s at home with family, friends and loud music. Other than BBQ’s he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing Bingo. His smile and positive energy will be greatly missed.
Mr. Martinez is preceded in death by three daughters, Teresa Martinez, Juanita Martinez, and Eliza Martinez.
Zacarias is survived by his wife of 40 yrs., Paulina Rodriguez Martinez of San Juan; ten children, Guadalupe (Eliseo) Guevara, Angelica (Sergio) Aguirre, Rosario (Armando) Garza, Julio (Ana) Martinez, all of Edinburg, Leonardo (Terry) Martinez of Kentucky, Yolanda (Salvador) Olayo, Cruz Martinez, both of Indiana, Irene (Homer) Silva, Jaime (Aracely) Pena, both of San Juan, Luz Pena Jr. of San Antonio; 25 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
