Mary Margaret De Leon

Mary Margaret Champion De Leon, 78, of Edinburg, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday,
October 12, 2023.
Margaret was born on June 13, 1945, to Isabel Champion of Edinburg, Texas. After Margaret
graduated from Edinburg High School in 1964, she attended Pan American College.
Margaret is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Ruben De Leon, her
children Giovanna (Rene) De Leon, Claudia (Steven) Dimas and her grandchildren Alessandra
Isabelle, Arianna Sophia and Esteban Wilson Dimas.
Margaret was preceded in death by her mother, Isabel Champion.
Margaret worked for the McAllen and Edinburg school districts for most of her adult life. After
retirement, she dedicated her time assisting her husband with his business and caring for her
three grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. She was also an active member at Holy Spirit
Catholic Church in McAllen and within the ACTS community.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg at
5:00pm with a Rosary to follow. Funeral Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church
in Edinburg on Friday October 20, 2023 at 1:30pm.
