Claudina Mata

CLAUDINA MATA PHARR- Claudina Mata, 79, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at Amara Hospice Inpatient Facility Care in Edinburg. Born in Pharr, she had lived there all of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Adela Garcia; two brothers, Raul and Jose Garcia; and a sister, Consuelo Segovia. Mrs. Mata is survived by her husband, Damaso Mata, of Pharr; four children, Johnny (Hermelinda) Mata, Blanca Estela (Ernesto) Garza, Raul Mata, all of Edinburg, Gloria (Jesus) Quiroga, of Pharr; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elena Rivera, of Pharr, Angelita Hernandez, of Hidalgo; two borthers, Robert Garcia, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Ryan McDonald, of Pharr. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service Friday, December 27, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday December 28, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
