FRANCISCO MATA, SR.
McALLEN - Francisco Mata, Sr., 89, died Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Solara Hospital in McAllen.
Mr. Mata was born in McAllen and had lived there all of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sabino and Hilaria Mata; three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Mata is survived by his wife, Rosa Mata of Edinburg; seven children, Francisco (Mandi) Mata, Jr. of McAllen, Felix (Belinda) Mata of Houston, Texas, Salvador (Linda) Mata of Hargill, Jorge (Noemi) Mata, Sabino (Gloria) Mata, Ramon (Mary) Mata and Carmen (Victor) Cantu, all of Edinburg; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary, today, August 16, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 am, Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
