AURORA, IL - Hermelinda O. Mata, 78, died Sunday, March 28, 2010, in Edinburg.
Ms. Mata was born in Edcouch, Texas and had lived in Aurora, Illinois most of her life.
She is preceded in death by a son, Ricardo O. Mata; a daughter, Rosalinda Mata; two sisters, Adela Rodriguez and Celia Cortez; and four brothers, Francisco Ortiz, Ramiro Ortiz, Manuel Ortiz and Miguel Ortiz.
Ms. Mata is survived by a son, Ruben O. Mata, of Aurora, Illinois; five daughters, Diana Mata, of Edinburg, JoAnne Gonzalez, Mary Ann Mata, Cynthia Garcia, all of Aurora, Illinois, Yolanda Rivera, of Phoenix, Arizona; 26 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Juan Ortiz, of Edinburg and Gilberto Ortiz, of Houston.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, March 29, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be held in Aurora, Illinois at a later date.
Local services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
