Nasaria T. "Nancy" Mata

NASARIA " NANCY" T. MATA PHARR - Nasaria "Nancy" T. Mata, 95, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 26, 2015, after a short illness. Nasaria was born in Wharton, Texas on November 2, 1919 and lived in Pharr most of her life. She was a very active member of La Trinidad United Methodist Church in numerous positions. Nancy was also a HOST volunteer at PSJA ISD where she worked as a cafeteria worker and nurse's aide. She touched many lives as she served in the community, always helping others. Nasaria is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Mata, Sr.; her parents, Guillermo and Jususa Trevino; and siblings. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Keta (Jim) Brewster, Maria de los Angeles (Gela) Garcia, Jesus Mata Jr.; step-children, Margarita (Pablo) Salinas and Alejandro (Raquel) Mata; sisters in law, Lupita Trevino, Esther Trevino; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A prayer service was held Friday, March 27, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. today, March 28, 2015, at La Trinidad United Methodist Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
