JAMES HENRY McCLELLAND EDINBURG — James Henry McClelland, 64, died Friday, September 26, 2014, at his residence in Edinburg. Born in Edinburg, he was a Master Electrician with Jim McClelland Electric and was also employed for a time as an electrical supervisor at Mission C.I.S.D. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother as well as an avid sportsman. He relished the role of family documentarian, with video camera always in hand. He loved having sons (in law) to share in his adventures, whether riding in his truck, fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR races or grilling a Texas dinner. He is loved dearly by his wife, daughters, mother and sister who know he is an essential part of who they are today. Some called him Henry, Mac, and even Big Buckaroo. It is a great sadness that we cannot all be with him on his next journey. He is preceded in death by his father, James Edwin McClelland. Mr. McClelland is survived by his wife, Judy Cunningham McClelland, of Edinburg; two daughters, Teena (Brad Nowak) McClelland, of Chicago, Kelley (Jason) Wells, of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Tierney Wells and Ronan Wells, both of San Antonio, Evan Nowak, of Chicago; his mother, Jean McClelland; and a sister, Linda McClelland, both of Edinburg. A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 208 E. Canton, Edinburg, Texas, followed by a time of sharing and visiting with family and friends in the Hidalgo Room at the Echo Hotel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 3707 West University, Edinburg, Texas 78541, or Operation Comfort at 4900 Broadway Suite 100, San Antonio, Texas 78209, which provides support to our service members who have been wounded and are receiving treatment in San Antonio, Texas.
