REV. CHRISTINA O. MEDINA EDINBURG – Rev. Christina O. Medina, 81, died Saturday, December 27, 2014, at her residence in Edinburg. Born in McAllen, Mrs. Medina had lived in Edinburg most of her life. She was best known for her dedication to the Lord. Rev. Christina O. Medina did missionary work in Mexico from 1978 to 1988. She was a pastor at Iglesia Puerta al Cielo in Edinburg from 1988 to 2002. She continued a prayer ministry from home from 2002 to 2014. Rev. Christina Medina fulfilled her purpose on this Earth. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raul Medina, Sr.; her parents, Benito and Senovia Aguilar; and a granddaughter, Ruby Lynn Medina. Christina is survived by her 10 children, Maria S. (Manuel) Balderas, Raul (Linda) Medina, Jr., Rene (Sylvia) Medina, Hilda (Mateo) Hernandez, Reynaldo (Raquel) Medina, Hermelinda (Raul) Guzman, Ruben (Lori) Medina, Helen (Luciano) Castillo, Robert (Anja) Medina, Heloise (Arnulfo Vega) Medina; 40 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, December 30, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
