MARIA U. MEDINA McALLEN – Maria U. Medina, 72, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Solara Hospital in Edinburg. She had lived in McAllen for 25 years and was formerly of Pharr. She was a member of Aposento Alto Church in San Juan. Mrs. Medina is survived by her husband, Jose Medina, of McAllen, three sons, Noe Medina, Joel (Norma) Medina, both of McAllen, Elias (Irene) Medina, of San Juan; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Berta Gallegos, of Mission, Martina Pena, of Alton; and a brother, Frank Gallegos, of Hawaii. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Monday, July 1, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Aposento Alto Church in San Juan. Interment will follow at El Capote Cemetery in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
