SALOME MEDINA EDINBURG - Salome Medina, 61, was taken away from us too soon on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. Born to Candelario and Adelaida Medina of Edinburg, Mr. Medina had lived there his entire life. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos and a veteran of the United States Army. In 1974, Salome became an honored and respected life-time member of the 1st Cavalry Division. Salome was hard-working and devoted fifteen years to Edinburg Regional Hospital and then continued his employment at the City of Edinburg where he was commemorated with fifteen years of outstanding service. He most enjoyed bar-be-cues with family and friends. When not watching western classics, Salome spent time with his only son watching WWE and NBA games. Salome and his lovely wife spent time traveling throughout the upper valley. He was a trusted friend and a devoted father. Salome was a loyal husband, a devout Catholic, and was well-loved throughout the community and among his friends and family. His greatest accomplishment was becoming a grandfather to his “mamacitas” and sharing secret ice cream runs. Salome will be fiercely missed, but he will always live on in the hearts of so many lives that he has impacted through his humble and selfless acts.
