WESLACO – Blanca Estela Mendez, 53, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at her residence in Weslaco.
Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Ms. Mendez had lived in Weslaco most of her life.
She is survived by six children, Anna Delia Mendez, Jose Antonio Mendez, Aissa Marie Mendez, Felix Rodriguez Jr., Nadia Lynn Garcia, Jorge Omar Ibarra; 21 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; her parents, Aristeo and Petra Mireles; and nine siblings, Rosalinda Casas, Israel Mendez, Antonio Mendez, Alberto Mendez, Francisco Mendez, Lucero Mendez, Magdalena Mendez, Jesse Mendez, Jorge Mendez.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of San Juan.
