Dominga A. Mendez, 88, died Thursday, June 29, 2017 in McAllen.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Mendez, Sr.; parents, Gavino and Escolastica Alvarado.
Dominga is survived by her seven children, Maria de Rosario ( Elias C.) Ybarra of Houston, Enemencia (+James) Ward of Burmingham, AL, Josefina (Victor) Guzman, Jose R. Mendez both of Edinburg, Daniel (Bertha) Mendez Jr. of McAllen, Gilberto (Alicia) Mendez, Sylvia (John) Rayko both of San Antonio; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margarita Contreras of Reynosa, Tamps, Candelaria Perez of San Juan, Guadalupe Jimenez of Wisconsin; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m., Monday, July 3, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
