Miguel Avila Mendez

Miguel Avila Mendez, 78, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
He is preceded in death by his father, Pedro Avila; mother, Carmen Mendez; a grandson, Juan Carlos Olvera Avila; two brothers, Evodio Avila, Isidro Avila; and a sister, Hermelinda Avila.
Mr. Avila is survived by his wife, Maria Guadalupe Avila Ramirez; five children, Maria Isabel (Juan) Olvera, Noemi (Juan Felipe) Pena, Miguel Angel (Gloria Idalia) Avila, Norma (Richard Lee) Avila, Noelia (Jose Raul) Martinez; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Antonio Avila, Jesus Avila, Genaro Avila, Apolonia Avila, Francisca Avila, San Juana Avila, Carmen Avila.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
