SOILA T. MENDEZ EDINBURG - Soila T. Mendez, 58, died Monday, January 27, 2014, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Edinburg, Ms. Mendez had lived there all of her life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Rebecca Trevino. Soila is survived by two daughters, Danilla Mendez, Desiree Mendez-Caltzontzint; a son-in-law, Jasson Caltzontzint; a granddaughter, Rozlyn Star Caltzontzint, all of Edinburg; and nine siblings, Angelica (Ezequiel) Farias, Elva (Daniel) Hernandez, Juan (Ana) Trevino Jr., Florinda Lopez, Olivia (Robert) Garza, Rosalinda Trevino, San Juanita Trevino, all of Edinburg, Greg (Nancy) Trevino, of Minnesota, and Normalinda (Martin) Mendoza, of Florida. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, January 29, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
