ANA MARIA MENDOZA
PHARR — Ana Maria Mendoza, 60, entered eternal glory on September 6, 2010 with her family by her side.
She was a GOD fearing woman, a caring daughter, a loving wife, a committed mother and a loyal friend. She will be so dearly missed by all who knew her.
Ana was born in Pharr, Texas on April 23, 1950. As a child, Ana worked in the fields as a migrant farm worker in Idaho. In 1966 she met and married Jesus Mendoza and gave birth to seven (7) children of whom she pushed to serve the Lord. In her earlier motherhood days, she was a member of the P.SJ.A (PTA program) and worked at the Bakery/Deli of Valley Mart. Ana zealously encouraged all her children and grandchildren to obey and apply all of GOD's teachings. Up until her untimely passing, Ana worked at Sanchez Supermarket in Pharr as a customer representative. She enjoyed meeting new people and welcoming neighborhood friends. Also, for the past several years Ana had been mentoring children on the ways of the Lord. She was a Sunday youth teacher at Iglesia Del Valle Santa Pentecostes in San Juan, Texas, where she served faithfully for 37 years.
She is preceded in death by her father, Fulgencio Manzanarez; two sisters, Juana Renteria and Adelaida Hernandez; and a brother, Jesus Manzanarez.
Ana is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jesus Mendoza, of Pharr; seven children, Ruben (Trudi) Mendoza, of San Antonio, Texas, Rene (Aida) Mendoza, of San Juan, Noe (Melissa) Mendoza, of Weslaco, Adriana (Frank) Sanchez, Eliza (Jesse) Garcia, Jesus Mendoza Jr., all of Pharr, Yvette (Eric) Quintero, of Edinburg; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her mother, Leonor Manzanarez, of Pharr; three brothers, Fulgencio Manzanarez Jr., Gabriel Manzanarez, both of Caldwell, Idaho, Monserat Manzanarez, of Pharr; and two sisters, Maricela Rico, of Edinburg and Marcela Escamilla, of Pharr.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 9 pm, with a 7 pm prayer service Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Iglesia Del Valle Santa Pentecostes in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Friday, September 10, 2010, at Iglesia Del Valle Santa Pentecostes. Interment will take place at 11:15 am at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Ruben Mendoza, Rene Mendoza, Noe Mendoza, Jesus Mendoza Jr., Nikolas Mendoza and Noe Mendoza Jr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
