MANUELITA S. MEZA
PHARR/ALAMO - Manuelita S. Meza, 82, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Born in San Juan, she lived in Mexico and Alamo most of her life. Manuelita dedicated her life to her beloved family and Jehovah God. She married the love of her life in 1952, they enjoyed dancing. their favorite song, “El Chubasco” in all special occasions. Mrs. Meza enjoyed gardening, reading her Bible daily, making personalize hand embroidery, and expressed her love through cooking for her family. She made homemade flour and corn tortillas for her husband daily for every meal. She will be remember for her charisma, smile and generosity of sharing.
Mrs. Meza is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Juana Salazar; two sisters, Maria de los Angeles Salazar, Matilde S. Gauna; two brothers, Pedro and Manuel Salazar.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Jose Guadalupe Meza of Pharr; 14 children, Juan Luis (Teresa) Meza of Pharr, Jose Manuel Meza of Mexico, Jesus (Gloria) Meza, Francisca (Cristobal) Rodriguez, both of Pharr, Dorothy (Rodolfo) Reyes of Houston, Maria del Pilar Meza, Nestor (Mirozlava) Meza, Tomas (Esther) Meza, all of Pharr, Jose Guadalupe (Beatrice) Meza, Jr. of Alamo, Martin (Cecilia) Meza of Houston, Benjamin Meza of Mission, Fernanda (Jorge) Garza of Kerrville, Simon (Estrella) Meza of Houston, Veronica (Edgar) Vega of Pharr; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Irene (Juan) C. Vasquez, Maria del Pilar Salazar; and one brother, Guillermo Salazar.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. talk Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
