MIGUEL S. GUAJARDO

MCALLEN – Miguel S. Guajardo, 80, entered eternal rest Monday, February 19, 2024, at McAllen Medical Center.

Mr. Guajardo had lived in San Juan most of his life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish. He was a veteran of the United States Army, stationed in Alaska during Vietnam.

He is preceded in death by a son, Michael Guajardo Jr.; his parents, Ramon and Sofia Guajardo; and two siblings, Ninfa Cantu and Eliseo Guajardo.

Mr. Guajardo is survived by his wife of 51 years, Guadalupe G. Guajardo; two daughters, Magdalena (Charles) Defreitas, Aileen (Chanc) Bennett; five grandchildren, Alexandrea (Nate) Suri, Christopher (Haley) Defreitas, Steven Defreitas, Michael Bennett, Aubrey Bennett; two great-grandchildren, Rafael and Guillermo Suri; and five siblings, Erasmo (Teresa) Guajardo, Roberto (Mary) Guajardo, Ramon (Noelia) Guajardo III, Ruben (Nelda) Guajardo, Janie (Ramon) Romero.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m., Monday, February 26, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.  Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at RGV State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW 7473 of Elsa.
