MARIA RIVERA MOLINA
EDINBURG – Maria Rivera Molina, 107, died Friday, September 24, 2010, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Cuevitas, Texas, Mrs. Molina had lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Faysville. She was a foster mother from 1966 to 1978, during which she cared for a total of 58 children.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Enrique Molina; a son, Jose Oscar “Choca” Molina; a daughter, Vicenta Molina; a grandson, Hiram Ochoa Jr.; and three granddaughters, Delia Otila Molina, Arabella “Misty” Molina and Laura Molina.
Mrs. Molina is survived by eight children, Esther M. Jimenez, Moises (Delia) Molina, Olivia (Hiram) Ochoa, Leonor M. († Ruben) Longoria, Enrique Porfirio (Amalia) Molina, Gloria Molina, Jesus (Ester) Molina, all of Edinburg, Leonel M. (Gloria) Molina, of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Juanita De La Rosa Molina, of Edinburg; 22 grandchildren; 44great-grandchildren; and 12great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, September 26, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 am Monday, September 27, 2010, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Faysville. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Pallbearers will be Edgar Molina, Leonel Molina Jr., Ruben Longoria Jr., Jesus Molina Jr., Jaime Ochoa and Rudy Ochoa. Honorary pallbearers will be Ivan Ochoa and Ricky Molina Jr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
