Francisco R. Montaño, 75, entered eternal rest Friday, March 17, 2023, at his residence in Edinburg.
It's impossible to describe the patriarch of our family in just one paragraph. Francisco Montaño has lived in Edinburg most of his life. At a very young age, he worked as a migrant farm worker and traveled to different states. This is where he would meet the love of his life, Raquel Reyna Montaño. They were blessed with 55 years of marriage and through their love, dedication, and perseverance, they raised six children. With faith and hope, his family grew with strong family values and hard work at the realm. Most days he spent working around his home, visiting family and friends, or just simply spending time with his sweetheart. He is, above all, a family man. A close second, he could be described as a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan. A sparked barbecue pit and his family laughing and reminiscing were considered his ideal weekends.
Mr. Montaño is survived by his loving wife, Raquel Reyna Montaño; two sons, Francisco (Sylvia G.) Montaño Jr., Lee Roy (Maria) Montaño; four daughters, Lissa Montaño, Irene (Juan) Leal, Michelle (John) Jett, Crystal (Carlos) Hernandez; 13 grandchildren, Justin, Frank, Marco, Leeandra, Johnathon, Lee Roy Jr., Jason, Jesse, Noah, Ava, Jacob, Andrea, Jaxon; many family and friends.
