ISABEL MONTEMAYOR
PHARR - Isabel Montemayor, 91, passed away Saturday evening, February 5, 2011. She was born July 8, 1919 in La Paloma, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Manuel and eldest daughter, Hilda Garcia (who was married to Lupe).
Mrs. Montemayor is survived by four children, Manuel Jr. (wife, Rosie) of Winslow, AZ, Guadalupe “Wally” of Grand Prairie, TX, Mary Delgado (husband, Tony), also of Grand Prairie, TX, and Mary Alice Thomas (husband, Lee), of New Milford, CT. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Isabel “Chavela” was a loving and caring mother and wife. She will surely be missed and remembered for her strong faith in God that she carried with her always.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm with a 7 pm rosary, today, February 8, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am, Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
