Maria Guadalupe Montez

MARIA GUADALUPE MONTEZ ALAMO — Maria Guadalupe Montez, 94, died Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville. Mrs. Montez lived in Alamo all of her life and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Guadalupe Montez; parents, Martin and Maria Cavazos; brother, Fernando Cavazos; sisters, Leonor Sarabia, Carolina Chavez and Jacinta Ramirez. Mrs. Montez is survived by a son, Hector (Sandra) Montez, of Brownsville; a daughter Maria Magdalena Cervantes, of Uvalde, Texas; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister Maclovia Cribbs, of Atlanta, Georgia. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, October 14, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2012, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
