JEWELL ELIZABETH MOORE
MERCEDES - Jewell Elizabeth Moore, 79, died Monday, February 13, 2012, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
Mrs. Moore was born in Blytheville, Arkansas and had lived in Mercedes for 35 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jay Harvey Moore Sr.; a sister, Virginia Arington; and a brother, Marion Bates.
Mrs. Moore is survived by four children, Jay Harvey (Mona) Moore Jr., of La Feria, Garry Moore, Julie Thornell, both of Mercedes, Rickey D. (Janie) Moore Sr., of Lyford; 16 grandchildren, David, Jack, Irene, Julie, Garry, Mary, James, Crystal, Rickey Jr., Cory, Yvonne, Timothy, Pamela, Janea, Jay and Jamie; 31 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jay Bates, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today, February 15, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
